Attention: Sweaty Collector Nerds!

Post number 100 (and it took just under a year, all right!) comes by way of the fulfillment of a request. Cliff commented about the "Make the Collector Nerd Sweat" comp. a little while back. This 10" is a classic and features two of my all time favorite bands (Crimpshrine and Jawbreaker), so I scoured the earth (not really) and found a good copy for, well, a non-collector nerd price. Not that it matters, but the one ripped here is the repress from the early nineties on Too Many Records (originally Very Small Records, but it's the same guy). If you haven't figured it out already, this comp falls more into the "pop punk" category, so if you're exclusively crusty in your listening habits, you may want to skip this one. However, if you like good and catchy punk rock, this comp is really great listen and, as mentioned before, a classic! Other super star standouts include The Mr. T Experience, Sam I Am, and Plaid Retina (Coffee & Donuts crank out a surprising good, moody instrumental number too). So, if you're into this sort of thing... enjoy!

Yes, it's THAT Offspring. Apologies in advance.

thanks for this one, nice little jaunt down memory lane when I saw this one. My buddy had this one and he was so tickled by the title. He always thought me a collector nerd. I can't thank you enough for this one.

I cannot thank you enough for unearthing this one. My favorite thing about this comp was that of the original pressings on Very Small Records, the smaller edition was pressed on black vinyl - making the colored vinyl variants less rare.

plus i dunno why they changed the name of plaid retina's song to "freebird", when it's actually "fortunate son" (yep, a creedence cover)... which appeared on h street's hokus pokus video...

Thanks Billy... ditto for you!

Convertido- yeah, the Very Small Recs guy had/has a great sense of humor (all three comps of his I posted are perfect examples!).

Cliff- No problem! I didn't realize that about the colored vinyl thing. Mr. Hayes (VSR) is a friggin' master of irony!

Javier- more Collector Nerd trivia that completely eluded me until now! Thanks. I want to assume it was just a brain-fart on the label's part, but I wonder...
